Collections—A Live Magazine and Public Club hosted by Ariel Basom is a monthly showcase of both live readers and video performances featuring a diversity of positions, styles, and modes: poetry juxtaposing story; literary fiction opposing memoir; drama next to genre fiction.
This live magazine exists in a space in between the publishing world and the open mic—a third space. A space to present finished and polished work; a space to come together with peers and allies to share fresh ideas; a space to forge community within the walls of the Hugo House Salon.
We create an environment we can be proud of by treating ourselves and each other with high regard by leading with kindness and by wearing our favorite fancy clothes. We are not casually stumbling in but rather we show up as our best selves in order to present our best work.
Do you want to be a part of this community? Do you want to be a reader? Show up to the event; introduce yourself; we are welcoming to all writers and hold space for new members of our public club.
